Hey all, We had some tech problems last week that caused the winners to be announced 2 days late, so we kept them up an extra day. This weeks winners are in and will be posted shortly.
Well, guess I'd been AK'n' if I wasn't sincere. Disappointed that Sharon didn't make the short list. CA, it's not nice, making an old man cry like that. Your song is simply BEAUTIFUL (the song, the singing, the piano)....Bravo!!
I didn't know how it would shake out CA, but I knew your song was gonna be on the weekly list, I was thinking #1 but, thereagain, there is a lot of good talent and I can't always figure the rankings.
Hey Coffee, Since yer callin' me out: I really liked the song. My daughter's name is Grace, so you had me at hello. The vocals were very well sung, and the lyrics were right on target. You applied even and consistant presure on the heart-strings to create a very sweet song that never steps over the line to become a silly-sweet song (a fine line that most artists cross when writing a tune like this). If I have any suggestions I'd say you could start with the piano. The playing was ok, but nothing special. You might want to hire a studio pianist to record the real deal. That said, the piano did little to detract from the quality of the tune as a whole. Besides that, I suppose I could mention that it's not a particularly original song, in theme, lyrics, or melody -- But that's not necessarily a bad thing -- You just have to make sure that you're song is better than the other songs that sound kinda like it, and I think you did that.
