A slightly silly song

It's not just my heart that you've broken

The rains falling heavy on King Street
And the rhythm is the perfect disguise
for the memories of love all around me
and Angelines sad lullabies

This house is so cold since you left here
Ringing echoes of the harsh words weve spoken
Time heals all wounds, so Ill get over you
but it's not just my heart that's been broken

Ive cut my nose off in spite of my face
Im tearing my hair out too
Hell, I spend all my nights getting legless
Since Im out of my mind over you

My skin crawls when I see my reflection
My fingers are worked to the bone
my pleas have all fallen on deaf ears
cause my mouth has a mind of its own.

So I must hold my tongue,
keep a stiff upper lip
and turn a blind eye to all Ive forsaken
get a grip on myself and not let myself go
or the blood on your hands wont be token.

But don't get me wrong, cause I'm doing ok.
Forgive me if I'm a little outspoken.
My hand on my heart, I'm not falling apart
But it's not just my heart that youve broken.

Thanks Donna. I am planning on recording it before too long. As you can probably guess it is a sad country song that descends into drivel. It starts with meaningful and sensitive folky crooning and then goes to plinky plonk ho-down style.
BTW I had a look at your myspace and I think some of your material is great.
I have a few of my songs on our myspace site at:
