On to me

On to me
February 13, 2007

Waiting for the morning hour
Desperate for a good nights sleep
In dreams I do not have the power
To open up my mouth and speak
Got a date with fifty two cards
Divide by seven nights of the week
Two for family two for our children
Two for you and one is split by three

I have been sinking
I have been drifting
Tried to touch the bottom of the sea
I have been holding on
Like nobody else is holding on to me

So I try to make words rhyme
Keep my life with song in time
I see the shared effect
Pieces of the hope I find
On your face and in the lines
That seasons did not forget
But life is not over yet

I have been learning
The cycles of the past just keep on turning
Even in the shadows of the Sun
And I have been holding on
Like somebody else is holding on to me

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The "down-ness" made me wonder....can't wait to hear it!

Up north here we get the Blahs when winter gets too long, like this year. I got the low-down dirty Blahs man....haha

Well, there is a little bit of hope in this idea of mine.

As the lyric progresses the character realizes that all this energy he has put into "holding on like no body else was holding on to me" is actually selfish.

As it turns out, thru mans life, if he is able to remember the love he has from friends family and especially his Mom, you find that not only were you NOT holding on but that others were actually carrying your lazy ass :)

Yes, that transition takes awhile...I'm still workin' on it (haha)...
Seems that we were all put "down here" to get over ourselves, don't ya think?!...
Looks like a good song you got there!...
