posting lyrics?

I didn't dig through this site to see if this is a dead horse already overly beaten, but have you considered letting people post their lyrics with their songs? True, the ideal is to grasp the merits of the song through LISTENING, but I find I have 2 problems - sometimes, lyrics are not entirely audible; and sometimes when giving a comment I would like to be able to reference a particular line or phrase, but I can't re-capture it sufficiently just from memory hearing it only once. FWIW a suggestion

People place lyrics and poetry in the Lyrics and Poetry section.

You could referance that(your lyrics to such-and-such song is in Lyrics and Poetry forum) in the comments area of the song you submit or just do it to start a topic.

I think I'll start working on lyrics for a song called "Such and such" and see what happens.

Jack's right. Post a comment on the player letting people know that your lyrics are in the "Lyrics" section of the Forum.

Thanks - though am more interested in having access to others' lyrics in order to give better comments; guess I can leave the same info for the artists when commenting on their songs.

After listening to your song one more time., It is totally clear to me why you need to see other peoples lyrics. Shame on you. Jeffrey

Agree with SharonO, being able to see other people's lyrics could help and it was suggested months back to make a music player with an optional flanking lyric panel that can be seen by checking 'see lyrics' or hidden by unchecking the box.

I have no programmer skills. Not sure if this is hard or not to do. but would be a nice extra feature on that music player.

Yeah that would be nice. The programmers tell me that it's possible, and we've tossed around the idea, but it hasn't really made it off the back burner.

Or we could all try to achieve some minimum standard of intelligibility on our recordings. Or maybe it just doesn't matter. I heard "cut loose like a douche" for thirty years, but I was still blinded by the light.

I can understand most lyrics while listening, but, for example, if a comment I want to make is that the story isn't coming together or there's some inconsistency, I'd at least like to be able to point out what I mean - so I'd like to be able to have the lyrics in front of me when writing the comments, that's all.

depending on the speed of your player, you can back the song up, you know. It's been locking up some on my system for some unkown reason, but one used to be able to back it up to try to make out a mumbled line etc. Try that. Just move the slider like any other player.
