Who is in this clique I have been hearing so much about ?
I want to know, cause I've never seen it !
I have seen some artists forming a bond with other musicians of simular musical interests.
I have NEVER EVER seen AW giving preferential treatment to any paticular music style.
Even though I am sure, each of the judges at AW, have specific music preferences.
Someone made a statement that if you aren't Country Music, you're not as welcome here.
I believe, nothing could be further from the trueth !
I sincerely doubt that Country music is the favorite genre at AW.
ALL STYLES OF MUSIC ARE WELCOME HERE !!!
That's what I see.
Maybe Country Artists Find it easier to accept one another, cause they are more laid back.
I don't know the answer for sure.
But I don't see what is stopping other artists from forming their own network on AW.
That is exactly what I believe AW is here for.

I very seldom leave comments on Hip-Hop entries, and I will tell you why.
I don't know enough about that style to make an educated comment.
But there are several other artists in that field, that could certainly give better feedback than I could. And they are right here on AW.
And for God Sake, if someone doesn't understand that, and they decide to BURN you in their comment, Please take it with a great big grain of salt-let it go. Take the good. You can't please everyone. They love David Hasselholf in Germany, They laugh at him in the UK.
He is still more sucessful than anyone who is reading this !
Let's just keep trying to make great music my friends, there is alot of that right here on AW.
Who knows what could happen ?

Good points, Jeff. Everybody here needs to think like Jeff, act like Jeff, be the Jeff. Be the Jeff, Danny. We've gone out of our way to find judges from all different backgrounds and it has paid off with a very diverse group of winners. If it seems like a clique at all, that just because we don't have a ton of people actively posting so you tend to hear from the same people.
I had to bite my tongue when it was posted by commentor(s) that all my tunes were sounding the same( I KNOW MINE SOUND THE SAME). "So are you"(COMMENTORS COMMENTS SOUND THE SAME FOR EVERYONE) I thought outloud to no one there.
Jack, I see no reason for you to ever bite your tongue, unless you are hoping to someday get more than two and a half flames at AW,.....or eating peanuts, popcorn or bubble gum.
Some people call it, "sounding the same", I call it "The CONSISTENT QUALITY !"

I was the one who originally used the word "clique" in a post, so it seems reasonable for me to come back to this topic.
In a discussion Jack began about "starting to miss the porn," I posted a message saying that I had surfed this site back in May-June and discontinued visiting it because it seemed to be dominated by a clique - that at that time, I had seen several discussions where "regulars" would tell anyone they disagreed with to get the heck off of the site, etc.
Well, whether you call it a clique or not, that mind set apparently hasn't changed.
The most recent comment I received (the inspiration for which I am still perplexed about) from Jeff, in the discussion "whoever the heck said...." (which I had thought althogether innocuous, though unreasonably prolonged - through no fault of my own; all I've done since beginning the thread is RESPOND to those who've posted back to me), is:
you don't belong or need to be here

Actually, it seems that anything goes here! The lions share of winners seem to be anything but country! As are the posts. Let's all compete and keep growing.
Generally, if we have a week in which a bunch of country artists submit their music, there's a better chance that a country artist will win. But click on the weekly winner's link from the home page and you'll find that every genre of music is represented. I'm proud to say that our judges select the best songs entered, regardless of the style.
