You know i really like artist weekly but the conservative asumption that every song has to have a middle 8 is oh so over! I mean get real ! Someone should ask Tom Petty about his dicernable middle 8`s. He sold way over 20 million records and a gooD part of his work has no middle 8. If J. Cash was alive i wonder what he would say about it? peace and love D
I know, for me, everything I do has to have some discernable difference from intro to pre to verse to bridge/middle 8 to lift to chorus to outro. I am not aware of this being a standard that must be followed in order to participate in the AW weekly paw-tay.
The middle 8 being another way of saying bridge, frankly I don't know why we wouldn't want to use something to break up the song/lyric, make it go in another direction or make more sense, change the way the composition is going, to keep it interesting.
That is why there is a verse and then a chorus. It helps to keep a piece interesting, break it up. We are talking about commercially viable tunage here right? Not like this is Mozart, I don't think he had much verse chorus middle 8 stuff going on.
While I can concur that it is not a "required" ingredient...no one here boasts the status of Tom Petty or Mr. Cash.
All true! but i have to bust a little bit of balls or it wouldnt be fun. All im saying is that as a comment its painting yourself in a corner or shall i say a follower. peace D
