Mark, Jeff is a good guy, though I don't think he "works" for AW and am not sure of who does ....I guess we all kinda do, if you consider time put in trying to, you know, contribute to the cause of helping each other improve our music....it's mostly communal, I s'pose. Tell us more about your problem - maybe we can kick 'em off the island .
We corresponded over 2 years ago and we collaborated on a song, shortly thereafter I get a note supposedly from his wife saying he had died. I greived quite a bit and prayed for his plight. Then about a year or two later he starts anonymously trying to get in with his "constructive" criticism under an alias JM or Jeff. I guess he thought I wouldn't remember him. Then I check his vocal out with the collaboration. Bingo. It was him, for sure. I confronted him. He semi-apologised for his action blaming it on his wife. Jerk. I told him I didn't want any more contact and he started acting like a three year old with his critique.
That's pretty much it. If he was a site administrator or something I would gracefully bow out and post elsewhere. If he's not, that's good.
Thanks for your wonderful insight on my last song. It's nice to hear an objective opinion. I tend to have alot of hidden meanings, because I admit, it's hard to keep personal things out of the music and try not to make it obvious. A more "real world" theme without the abstract theoretical BS would make it easier for the listener to identify.
Mark - am glad if you found anything I said of help/use. Maybe we are kind of, hmmmm, lyrical opposites? As in, I approach songs rather literally and linearly, straight story lines and so on. Whereas you seem very image and symbol-oriented (?) Maybe we should trade brains for awhile, haha, expand our horizons........
