I got a song that needs some strong rock vocals (Ronnie James Dio comes to mind but not limited to his voice). Maybe I say Ronnie J for the beauty of his voice...he's a singer in my mind and not just a screamer (though he can do that too). So I'm looking for that singer-quality, not just loads of singer attitude minus a voice (but Attitude is a good thing and welcome too).
The initial music demo is written (highest note 'D' octave above middle 'c' a.k.a C3...lowest note is G just below middle 'C'). The lyrics are currently being worked out. Might need singer by early/mid May 2006.
BUT because the song hasn't been completely arranged yet (i.e.still deciding on instruments in certain parts), I'd like to hear some vocal demos. This would help me decide the perfect key for the singer before I fully arrange and record the other parts. I'd like the singer to be very comfortable with the melody, so this takes priority and I'd perfer to make any key changes early in the process rather than later.
Let me know if you're interested and I'd love to hear some demos of your voice!
Did I mention this would be for a flat fee and I would pay direct to your bank account using Paypal.
I also have another tune for male voice. Think the intimacy of Dan Folgelberg 'A Cry In the Forest', or the lowness of Randy Travis but no twang...sometimes I hear Lyle Lovett (but very little twang) with his intimacy on 'Joshua Judges Ruth'. The lyrics are ready and the arrangement is at that ready-to-look-for-vocalist stage.
If interested please email me at ztar_dude @ yahoo. com (spaces added to protect from spammers) or leave your email here and I can contact you.
Again, flat fee and Paypal is quick and direct to your bank account. This is how i paid all the musos on 'A Brisa'. I'm happy to give references if you need any to prove of my sincerity to pay and pay on time.
I have to be honest, Brad, you were one of the first voices I considered for the song (about 2 weeks ago). I listened to many of your tunes and though i kept telling myself 'Nice voice, i like the voice." I couldn't hear it on this tune.
I forced myself to say yes, but then my wife, who's also a musician came in to listen, and though she also liked your voice, her first reaction was that it was not the voice for this tune.
Anyway, please don't take that any other way than, I hear a different voice for it (thick in timbre and slightly washed up/fatigued,,,but not too rough like Tom Waits).
BUT I do hope you'll let me take you up on your offer for other tunes that may come up over the coming months.
