Looking for a co writer / A&R people / people with contacts.I have been writing since late 96. I have 5152 songs written 4 demos 1 showcase. I have been told by everyone that I have some good songs. now I want to prove it. 3 song titles. 1. NEON TEARS , 2.LONG NECKS DON'T MAKE GOOD FRIENDS,3.THE RIGHT KIND OF SOMETHING. ( DEMOED).It's been hard financially. it take money to do demos. I have so much to offer ,so many ideas i don't know where to begin. contact me at Lats36@aol.com.
Submit a song. That's one place to start. Then get out and play. One showcase does not make a career. I played dozens of showcases and look where I am. Here. Ugh. Where's that post with the vicodin links?
Lara-you said in another post that you started writing in 96' --- i'm no math wiz, but ain't that about 2 songs a day? everyday? sorry, that's not possible. but i'd like to hear some of them. you could post lyrics too. we'll be kind
Maybe she meant 51-52 songs vs. 5152 (?) - yes, the latter would be pretty mind boggling.
But I wouldn't make any commitments about anybody being "kind" - I have been listening to songs and leaving what I think are "kind" (or at least diplomatic) comments, and then I see stuff from other people absolutely SLAUGHTERING the person! Some people write these way-out-of-proportion tyrannical attacks like it is their big chance to practice for the New York Times or something.
That may be, I'm just saying that no one should tell someone else to post a song because reviewers will be "kind" - the person posting the song may get helpful advice or a nasty tirade or just nothing much at all, but "kind" does not figure into any of the comments I have read.
Your taking this topic all over the forums, what in paticular is your issue?
Some of the kindest comments I leave are when I leave nothing at all, believe you me. And I believe that what I told you about your song was kind and helpful. Kind of a twofer:) I suppose if someone only wants the good and none of the bad it would be enough to keep them away from life. But if one is to experience what good is, you must have something to compare it to...and often that is bad or a nasty tirade.
Frankly I do not understand the persuit. You have had nothing negative said about your work in the comments that I read. It's almost like you want someone to say it directly at you so you can scream "SEE I TOLD YOU IT WAS UGLY AND NASTY OVER THERE!!!!"
Now quite hogging up the forums, I've got other people that really need killin' to tend to.
