I ended up with a fair amount of original music by unknown Nova Scotian artists on my puter, and while trying to find a venue for Barb Sharples, discovered Artist Weekly! What a super idea AW is! Thank You!!
Anyway, I only want you to know that the following artists are not submitting material on their own behalf (and also that this would be a good place to contact any of them)..
Barb Sharples, Cecil MacDougall, Cheryl Edgett, Paul Smeets, Dale Mallory, Dwight Mallory, Dwight Kent, Roger Theriault, Sheldon Gillis, Douglas Gill, Donnie Donohue, (and still to come..) Allard Barkhouse, Jakki Rogue, Pam Marsh, Don Burke, Berkley Lamey, Rick Jeffery, Mark MacMillan, Mark Raddin, and others. There's a lot of music up here in NS!
No Jack, upon discovering AW, I got permission to enter their songs (my dime). They read the comments and it's been a lot of fun for us. I just thought it should be known they are all from Nova Scotia, haven't been submitting their own material (promoting themselves), but perhaps mostly, whereas several peers have tried conversing with some of them in the Comments window (which doesn't work very well), this forum provides an opportunity to do so. Thanks for saying hello!
Well, nice job Nova Scotia! Who knew they had great music up there? Bob, your list of NS artists could also be viewed as a list of some of the best artists on this site. I'm a huge Barb fan, myself. Keep em' comin'!
I gotta say, I'm disappointed. This isn't "Promoter Weekly".
I thought these people were active participants here. But here's one guy who's posting for, what, eleven people? And the eleven just aren't here! Are there more promoters lurking?
Ronnie, please don't stop, I'm curious to hear the eight + artists you have yet to share.
This was a surprise, but in the end, does it matter? A great song is a great song, regardless of who clicks the submit button.
There You Are!!!!! Hello Ronnie Banks, ( Alias - rb ? )
I tried your link here, but it didn't work, try it again because I know other artists have links here that do work.( It said " Your Link Wasn't Submitted Properly." )
So is THIS the place to join the Barb Sharples Fan Club. Every Artist needs a support group. Count me IN !
Is this the place to Thank You Personally, for Standing-Up on the AW Site, regarding Debbie Jensen's Song, " A Brother's Love. " As I said, "I Hope I can return the favor."
I may be wrong, but I believe that one of my MENTORS is a NS Artist. Have you ever heard of Jonathan Edwards ? ( " SUNSHINE GO AWAY TODAY " , Big Hit in the 60's or 70's. )
I am a Songwriter-Artist-Performer, but Possibly More Importantly, I Have Been the ENTERTAINMENT COORDINATOR, for a Prominent Mid-West Gambling Casino, these last 15 years of my life. I know my Customers Would love this music. Call it Exposer !
Wyre: I'm having trouble finding middle ground between chastisement and encouragement (haha). I'll assume the latter is your true sentiment. My response to Jack explained that these artists ARE here, reading the comments (that's the fun!). I never envisioned that submitting songs on behalf of some friends would cause any consternation. I only wanted to......oh well, I explained it before. Thanks for your post!
JE: Don't know why the email link wouldn't work for you. Brad Benton, e.g., was able to contact me! Here 'tis again --- rbopster@gmail.com --- and hopefully it'll work this time. Yes, I wish people would rate accordingly, as per Debbie. I rate the ones I submit but just give them what I think they're worth, and not blanket 5/5's (guess it's the farm boy in me), and I don't rate myself at all (who am I to judge me?). There's a lot of interest in Barb, and why not? I think she's GREAT! Maybe we SHOULD start a fan club!
Jonathan Edwards apparently lived in NS only for a few months in the early 70's, when I was still playing music in Vancouver, BC. Yes, suddenly we're old men (haha)! I suppose that's really not very funny (haha)! Thanks for the post, JE!
