I like these lyrics, Debbie! They are very poignant and do touch a chord!
I was waiting for these lyrics to also say something about how easy it is to sacrifice other people's children. Maybe it's cliche which is why i was waiting for it. Something like...
Mr. Suit I never saw your son black booted and green fatigued Do your dreams ooze black as you steal my son and mislead
Or something like that. Something that could recognize that war is not like dust storms that whirl up from natural elements. But are born from the misdirection and short-sightedness of people (on all sides).
The part about passing 'peace' on. I can't get it out of my head that it seems like we're passing the peas at the dinner table. Did you want that corollation since 'as children' was mention just before? But I do like the alliteration of 'take the peace and pass it on' - it's musical to my ears even though that image of peas also comes to me.
do you have music for this already? If so, what style are you doing?

Yes Yes Yes Mr. Hanlon, I wanted say that all along but I was told it was wrong. Thank you so much for seeing that. If this president believed in his war, then he would send his children, just as he sends ours. Point well taken about the Peas - I won't change it, but in the music I will pause - "the peace - and pass it on. " In answer to your question DEAR Steven - I have no music or particular style of music in mind for these lyrics as yet. If you any inspiration - towards these lyrics- I would welcome your collaboration. Lyrically and or Musically. Lots Of Love Debbie
