Got a question for ya.

Let me just slide a starter in here:

Pub lacks karaoke license, sued for copyright violations

Saw an ad on the TV as I was cutting grass Saturday. I world reknowned Spanish fellow who I had never heard of. And it wasn't Estaban.

What type of system do you guys have in place to protect the AW site from Copyrighted material being submiitted?

We had that incident back a few when the FREE sign showed up, but mine and the Ole Blue eyes tune were marked as covers.

How do you know if it isn't marked?
AND if it is in a language that you do not speak?
AND no one is familier with the song anyway?

Good question. According to my entertainment law friends, it is ultimately up to the copyright holders to let us know when a song is a cover tune. They can send us a request to remove the song, and we'll remove it. Some old standards may be considered public domain, but we'll mark them as covers. That said, we make every effort to stay on top of possible copyright infringements by removing them immediately.
